Kinder Credits 2023
in progress

Dear QK,
We wanted to say thankyou for introducing the Covid Gap Discount function in Qikkids last year – this has saved us a lot of time.
Next year in Victoria the government has announced free kinder for all 3 and 4 year old children which will be funded similarly as in 2021, whereby we had to manually go through our QK’s enrolment and create credits for all of the free kinder children.
This was very time consuming and next year we look to have twice as many free kinder families (however they must remain on the CCS roll – the Dept of Education will only credit us for the parent out of pocket gap portion). We are wondering if it would be possible to have a similar button function, whereby we could credit parent gap fees each week at the touch of a button, rather than through the money tab. Just an idea!
Thankyou
Selina

Could you please advise when a Kinder tab will be set up (as QLD does) so as we can apply the Kinder subsidy automatically, without this tab it is going to be extremely time consuming applying these credits for every Kinder child 3 & 4 years on a weekly basis. The Kinder year is fast approaching and starts next week 30/1/23 and we have not had a resolution re this topic as yet, although QK is saying they been advised "The VIC government have confirmed that there will be no changes in 2023 that will necessitate software updates" which honestly does not make sense.

How do we implement Start Strong fee relief for 4 year olds as a fee relief each week?

Queensland:
We have rolled out a new release of QikKids (4.18.87), which enables admins to prepare forecasts, add child eligibility data and create programs for the Queensland Kindergarten Funding (QKF) in QikKids. Please note, the ability to send prepared forecasts (via API) will be enabled by the QLD Government later in the week.
To ensure you’re prepared, please refer to this support article for detailed instructions on how to set up Kinder Funding at your centre. https://support.qikkids.com.au/s/article/Kindy-For-All-Support-Central

NSW:
Due to the nature of these funding requirements in NSW, it is not possible for us to build a fully automated solution to apply fee relief to families. However, our team is working towards a solution that will include the government’s requirements of displaying fee relief on parent statements, and enable CSV exports that you can use to upload to the government. We are also developing a tool to simplify the application of the weekly fee relief. We will let customers know once this is ready for release.
Victoria:
The Vic government has advised that there are no changes to their Kinder funding processes in 2023, however, our team are currently working on a tool that will allow users to apply the subsidy in an easier way in QikKids. We will let our Victorian customers know once this is ready for release

Hi Janene & Raquel,
Due to the nature of these funding requirements in NSW, it is not possible for us to build a fully automated solution to apply fee relief to families. However, our team is working towards a solution that will include the government’s requirements of displaying fee relief on parent statements, and enable CSV exports that you can use to upload to the government. We are also developing a tool to simplify the application of the weekly fee relief. We do not yet have a release timeline, but this work is of utmost priority.

Hi Therese & Thea,
Our product and development teams are working on a new software tool to make applying kinder funding credits easier. We will let customers know when this feature is ready for release

Will QK Web be automating the SS fee relief payments to 4yos starting next year?
Selina
We have recently been receiving increasingly more communications from Kindergarten and Preschool customers inquiring if we will be ready for upcoming Kinder funding changes effective January 1 2023.
We want to reassure you we are working hand-in-hand with the Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales governments to understand requirements. Currently guidance is still being developed by these bodies and we are awaiting further information to make the required specific updates in QikKids.
